Online analysis of fibre suspensions – PIXACT Stock Monitoring System
The PIXACT Stock Monitoring System from Finnish company PIXACT Ltd is a modern optical online analysis system for detecting and classifying optical impurities in fibre suspensions. The measuring device uses a camera and the reflected light method to detect and analyze impurities ranging from 50 µm to 5 mm. The resolution of the system is 6.9 µm/px with an image area of 17 mm x 14 mm. Fibre suspensions with a stock concentration of up to 1.0% can be continuously analyzed as bypass streams from various stages of the stock preparation process. Particle size and morphology are measured in a flow cell (DN 15). With the help of image analysis algorithms, the impurities contained are statistically classified and recorded based on optical and geometric characteristics.
