Exchange for the Future of Research and Teaching

What are the most effective strategies for enhancing the synergy between research, industrial practice, and academic teaching? This question was the focus of a PTS visit by Prof. Alexander Pfriem, Professor of Wood Technology and Wood-Based Bioeconomy at the Institute of Natural Materials Technology at Dresden University of Technology.

During his visit, there was an intensive exchange on strategic topics at the interface between research, industrial application, and academic education. A particular focus of the discussions was on how current scientific findings can be transferred more effectively into industrial processes and innovations. Concurrently, the objective was to provide new momentum for teaching, training, and the promotion of young talent.

A subsequent tour of the various departments at PTS provided insights into the institute's practical research and development work.

The program included visits to:

The visit provided numerous opportunities for future collaboration and once again underscored the importance of close dialogue between academia, research institutions, and industry.

We would like to express our sincere thanks for your interest and the engaging discussions, and we look forward to continuing our academic exchange.
