Advancing Sustainable Packaging Solutions Through the CPTS Research Initiative

In April, researchers from PTS, the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging, and the Institute of Natural Materials Technology at TU Dresden met for the fourth time as part of the CPTS (Circular Packaging Technologies & Systems) competence cluster.

The workshop was hosted by the Holztechnikum Pirna. More than 40 specialists and executives participated in the event to engage in an interdisciplinary exchange on current research approaches and technological developments in the field of sustainable packaging solutions.

The CPTS Competence Cluster brings together the scientific expertise of the three research institutions, which collectively employ around 500 people. The goal of this collaboration is to develop high-performance, circular packaging systems as a contribution to a sustainable and climate-neutral bioeconomy.

The workshop once again highlighted the importance of close collaboration throughout the research and value chain in order to actively shape the transformation of the paper and packaging industry.
