Lightweight Construction of the Future: Innovation Meets Practice
The event focused on forward-looking developments: new materials, transnational funding initiatives, and the growing importance of modern joining techniques for industrial change.
In addition to exciting presentations and panel discussions, the forum provided a platform for exchange between science, industry, and politics. Representatives from research institutions, companies, and associations discussed current developments, technological challenges, and opportunities for sustainable innovations in lightweight construction.
Our colleagues Benjamin Hiller and Jörg Zschätzsch also presented PTS's current research activities in the field of lightweight construction, with a particular focus on sustainable materials and innovative manufacturing processes that contribute to resource efficiency and material optimization. This enabled them to highlight the relevance of fiber-based materials in this area and establish valuable contacts for future research collaborations.
We would like to express our thanks to all speakers for their exciting insights and to the forum hosts for their excellent organization.
The participants' engagement made clear that lightweight construction is a key issue for a sustainable and competitive industry of the future. 🌱
