Project Completion Celebration at PTS

Last Friday, we held a special event here at PTS: We took the opportunity to review the projects successfully completed in 2025.

In a pleasant atmosphere, our staff presented their projects, from the initial idea through methodological implementation to the final results. During the poster session that followed, there was an opportunity for in-depth discussion among colleagues. Results were discussed, critically examined, and new perspectives developed. At the same time, personal dialogue was not neglected and helped strengthen interdisciplinary exchange within the PTS.

A special highlight was the award for the best poster: The participants voted for their preferred option, which was then honoured with flowers and chocolates.

Insights into selected projects

The works presented here illustrate the wide range of topics covered by our research:

  • Seaweedpack – Development of bio-based, biodegradable barrier systems derived from brown algae polymers
  • AkuPap – Innovative acoustic modules made from paper and pulp
  • PergaForm – Improving the formability and deep-drawing capability of vulcanized fiber
  • SUGRA – Development of an adhesive based on renewable raw materials and related technologies for folding carton and corrugated cardboard packaging
  • BioWellKleb – Development of novel bio-based and formaldehyde-free wet-strength agents for starch-based adhesives
  • Sinter GDL – Development of sintered paper gas diffusion layers for space-, manufacturing-, and cost-optimized portable fuel cells
  • TransHyDe – System Analysis of Transportation Solutions for Green Hydrogen
  • Altpapier BB – Development of materials and production techniques for single-layer, paper-recyclable packaging made from recycled paper for pharmaceutical products

The project closing ceremony once again demonstrated the breadth and practical nature of our colleagues' research, and the importance of the exchange of knowledge and experience for our collective progress.
