PTS at the VNOP Environmental Committee - Focusing the Future

Two insightful days dedicated to environmental protection and professional exchange: Our colleagues Dr. Annika Eisenschmidt and Anna-Elisabeth Sommer took part in the Environmental Committee of the Verbande Nord- und Ostdeutscher Papierfabriken (VNOP) - with exciting insights, valuable discussions and a clear focus on key future topics for the industry.

After a warm welcome and a behind-the-scenes tour at Smurfit Westrock, the joint dinner on the first day provided the ideal opportunity for personal exchange and networking with industry representatives.

The second day focused on the expert meeting with contributions and discussions on current developments, including:

  • Environmental and water management in the paper industry
  • The current status of the PFAS study
  • The impact of EU regulation (CSRD, EUDR & Co.)
  • DPI information on the sustainability materiality analysis

Formats like these are essential for consolidating knowledge, broadening perspectives, and jointly shaping the transformation of the industry.
