- PFAS in paper mills that process recycled paper: This project provides the first comprehensive analysis of PFAS material flows in paper mills that process recycled paper. At the same time, it highlights the need for further research.
- Paper-based flame-retardant coatings: The “LDH-FlameCoat” project focuses on developing ultra-thin mineral coatings based on layered double hydroxides (LDHs) that bond firmly to fiber-based substrates and do not require synthetic additives.

Insights into our events
Our events once again offered exciting topics and lively discussions:
- In February, PTS once again hosted its research forums in Heidenau. In a deliberately small group, experts from industry, research institutions, and associations came together to discuss current developments in fiber research and come up with new ideas for practical applications.
- At the IGF Day, experts from the paper industry, representatives from research institutions, and interested guests gathered at the Congress Hall at Leipzig Zoo to network and discuss the latest developments in research.
- With two days of expert insights and in-depth discussions, the DOMAS User Day highlighted the growing importance of modern image analysis as a strategic tool in the paper industry.
