PTS on the Road in China
PTS at CIPTE in Wuhan
From September 16 to 18, 2026, our colleagues Dr. Martin Zahel and Jörg Hempel will be attending the China International Paper Technology Exhibition & Conference (CIPTE) in Wuhan. This international trade show brings together companies, research institutions, and experts from the paper, pulp, and packaging industries. The event focuses on innovative technologies, sustainable processes, and the future of industrial production.
At our booth, we will be showcasing PTS’s wide range of services. A particular focus will be on our automated measurement systems, which enable the reliable monitoring, analysis, and targeted optimization of production processes.
Date: September 16–18, 2026
Location: Wuhan International Expo Center, China
Booth: 2A807
Remote Presentation at PBME in Hangzhou
PTS will also be represented in China in October—this time online. The Paper-Based Materials Exhibition (PBME) in Hangzhou specializes in specialty papers and paper-based materials. Key topics include Specialty Paper & Green Packaging, Raw Materials, Machinery & Equipment, and Paper Making & Paper Processing Chemicals.
Our colleague Dr. Iris Kruppke will participate in the conference program with a remote presentation on the topic “Laboratory-Scale Assessment of the Recyclability of Specialty Papers—Regulatory Requirements and Case Studies of Practical Challenges.”
In her presentation, she demonstrates how the technical recyclability of specialty papers and fiber-based packaging can be assessed on a laboratory scale. She discusses current testing and evaluation approaches, such as the CEPI methods, while also outlining the requirements set forth in the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). These include, among other things, guidelines for “Design for Recycling,” requirements for the use of recycled materials, and restrictions on certain substances in packaging materials, such as PFAS.
By participating in both events, we would like to contribute our expertise to the international discussion, gain new insights, and further deepen our professional exchange with partners and companies in the paper industry.
