SIG Science Talk: Bioeconomy in Practice
Bio-based raw materials and materials are playing an increasingly important role in a sustainable economy. Research institutions are developing innovative solutions to use natural resources efficiently and to develop new products and processes for industrial applications.
On 28 April 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the next SIG Science Talk will provide valuable insights into current research on the topic of "Bioeconomy in Practice." Scientists from SIG member institutes will present their projects and demonstrate the potential that bio-based materials offer for various industries.

About Sächsische Industrieforschungsgemeinschaft e. V. (SIG)
The Sächsische Industrieforschungsgemeinschaft e.V. (SIG) acts as the primary representative for Saxony's non-profit external industrial research institutions. The SIG was founded in Dresden in 2014 with the aim of consolidating their efforts in Saxony. The association currently has 18 members. The research association, which operates across a wide range of sectors in Saxony, is dedicated to facilitating the transfer of research findings into the commercial sector, with a particular focus on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in Saxony. Saxony's strategic focus is twofold: on the one hand, the state is committed to the development of cutting-edge industries focused on materials, technology and process development; on the other hand, it is dedicated to addressing key issues related to major societal challenges, including resource efficiency and environmental sustainability.
