There are several ways to evaluate the transfer of substances into food. According to the kind of intended food contact the samples may be tested with Tenax ® (dry foodstuff) acc. to DIN EN ISO 14338 or with extraction techniques like the cold water extract acc. to DIN EN 645, hot water extract acc. to DIN EN 647 (wet foodstuff) or solvent extracts e.g. with Hexane, Ethanol or Isooctane (fatty foodstuff).
