Determination of bursting strength (board)
Article number:
530053
Norm:
DIN EN ISO 2759
The bursting strength of cardboard according to Mullen indicates the maximum resistance (kPa) at which a flat material can be loaded to bursting point by a vertically applied pressure. During the test, a uniformly increasing pressure is transferred to the material through a circularly arched test membrane.
The burst strength provides information on how well packaging base papers and corrugated cardboard resist damage from constant or sudden pressure and is therefore a very important quality feature with regard to load-bearing and transport properties.
